East Coast Sailing Association
powered by TidyHQCome out to the ECSA General Meeting on Wednesday, September 12th at 7:00 p.m.
This month we will feature a panel of experienced sailors for a program on Hurricane Preparedness. We will discuss methods of preparing and tying boats for a storm. We have a few new members that need a little support as well as some of our seasoned members that can tell and learn from their experiences with past storms.
Some topics we will cover:
- What to get off the boat before the storm
- What line to use (Some use old main sheet lines that don't stretch)
- Have you looked at the state of your pilings? (Will they break under load?)
- Do you have everything on board recorded for insurance purposes?
- Where to get good info about Hurricane Preparedness
- Are you prepared for the storm surge and how to tie your lines?
Please let ECSA Programs Chairperson Page Proffitt know if you will be at the meeting on Wednesday and if you would like to be on the panel. Also if you know of anyone special that could help, let Page know. He would like people on the panel that have boats in the water locally and the experiences they have had in the past. Page can be reached at 321-806-0303 or rpp1@pageproffitt.com.
Due to construction on the bathrooms, we will need to enter the meeting room through the glass doors that enter the room directly (Northeast corner). The meeting will be preceded by our new Happy-Half-Hour, starting at 6:30 p.m. -- BYOB and get happy !
